FMX – Film & Media Exchange returns April 23 to 26, 2024 for the 28th edition of the conference on animation, effects, interactive, and immersive media. Plans are underway for another stellar program.

Organizers have shared their first update on what’s coming – here are the highlights:

FMX 2024: CONNECTING IDEAS

The theme for 2024 is CONNECTING IDEAS, homing in on the question: Is the Media & Entertainment community moving closer together?

Look for discussions about the growing number of sharing platforms, open standards, and other initiatives that have emerged recently. And a special focus on cross-platform collaboration, pipelines, and distances – both physical and subjective – from interoperability to the disruptions shaking up film production.

Sol Rogers joins FMX 2024 as Program Chair

This year, Magnopus Global Director of Innovation Salomon Rogers takes the seat as program chair. Rogers is connected to the international community and will support the FMX team with information and inspiration to address new possibilities changing the dynamics of the creative industries.

"I'm deeply honored and excited to serve as the Program Chair for FMX 2024,” said Rogers. “Drawing from my years of experience in attending the event and passion for innovation, I am looking forward to curating a dynamic lineup of participants and talks that align with our theme of Connecting Ideas."

In 2014, Rogers founded U.K.-based immersive spatial design and innovation company Rewind, serving as CEO until its acquisition by Magnopus in 2021. Magnopus, founded in 2013 by Oscar winners Ben Grossmann and Alex Henning (Hugo), is an entertainment industry innovator known for its Emmy-nominated VR projects and as a leader in virtual production through its work on Disney’s The Lion King (2019) and its work in building the spatial web.

Rogers is also Chairman of BAFTA’s Immersive Entertainment Advisory Group and Immerse U.K. – the first nationwide network for immersive companies promoting U.K. as a global leader in immersive technologies.
