Jericho Officially Canceled

CBS' JERICHO, saved once last year, has been canceled, according to TV GUIDE.COM.

"The March 25 episode...will be the series finale," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high-quality second seasonWe're proud of everyone's efforts."

NBC's Bionic Woman Cancelled

Although unconfirmed by NBC, BIONIC WOMAN's co-executive producer David Eick confirmed to SCI FI WIRE that the show has been cancelled.

"I just felt that the process was so frustrating, and the conditions under which we were making that show never really came to fruition in such a way that I felt like we could make the show well," Eick said in an interview at SCI FI Channel's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on March 18. "The actress [Michelle Ryan] we found was wonderful. Some of the writing was good."

ABC Gives Greenlight To Raimi's First Rule

Sam Raimi's WIZARD'S FIRST RULE has been greenlit for 22 episodes by ABC/Disney, VARIETY reports.

The show, based on the SWORD OF TRUTH books by Terry Goodkind, will begin production in May.

RULE is being sold station-by-station, clearing 84 percent of the country in less than six weeks and will be on the air in all top 50 U.S. markets.

Bruno The Monkey Gets New Series

Fans of BRUNO AND THE BANANA BUNCH will soon have a completely new series to enjoy the characters.

Cuppa Coffee Studios announced Tuesday the new series LET'S GO BRUNO!, which combines 2D animation with live action in a simple, yet innovative game show format.

The show originally launched around the world on Nickelodeon with BRUNO, a 50-episode, 1-minute-each series exploring numbers, colors, shapes and sizes.

SCI FI Secures Jericho

SCI FI Channel has acquired the cable rerun rights to CBS TV Distribution's post-apocalyptic drama JERICHO, according to THE HOLLYWOD REPORTER. The cable net has gained the first and second season of the show in the three-year deal, which contains a six-month first-run clause for basic cable.

SCI FI plans to debut the series on Feb. 11 with a four-episode marathon, starting at 7:00 pm. This is a day before the second season starts airing on CBS. The regular slot for the show on SCI FI will be Mondays at 10:00 pm.

Mr. Men Find Licensing Bonanza

Chorion has signed on new partners to build a comprehensive licensing and merchandising program to support the new daily animated television series THE MR. MEN SHOW, which debuts on Cartoon Network, Feb. 4th at 9:00 am. The new television series for kids 2-11 is based on the longtime favorite and best-selling MR. MEN and LITTLE MISS books, created in the 1970s by British author Roger Hargreaves. Since they were first introduced 35 years ago, the MR. MEN and LITTLE MISS series have sold in excess of 100 million books worldwide.

Gameplay Scores Madden NFL Reality Show

Hi-def gaming channel Gameplay HD has struck a deal with Electronic Arts to produce a six-part reality show focusing on the 2007 EA Sports Madden Challenge, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The show is set to debut the day before the Super Bowl, Feb. 2. The initial hourlong broadcast, which will air at 1:00 pm, will set up the 24 finalists who competed in playing MADDEN NFL 08 at Universal Studios on Dec. 12-23, 2007. Subsequent episodes will air on Saturdays at 1:00 pm. The winner of the tournament racks up cash and prizes valued at $100,000.

Little Princess Toys To Debut

Independent producer/distributor TV-Loonland and Martin Yaffe International, the Master Toy Licensee for The Illuminated Film Co.'s preschool show LITTLE PRINCESS, will showcase the new Spring/Summer products and Autumn/Winter '08 lines at Toy Fair 2008, Jan. 30 - Feb. 2. ZDF To Host Cookie Jar's Arthur and Mona

Cookie Jar Ent. has signed a deal with Germany's ZDF network to air 40 episodes of its Emmy award-winning series ARTHUR. The show will be broadcast on Saturday mornings on ZDF.

ZDF has also renewed Cookie Jar's MONA THE VAMPIRE, and will show sixty-five episodes on ZDF and ARD's children's channel KiKa. The series airs Monday through Friday during KiKa's afternoon slot.
