Jameela Jamil, Terry Crews, Snoop Dogg, Bill Nye, Paris Hilton, Henry Bolan, and Meredith MacNeill join previously announced Jennifer Hudson, Fortune Feimster, and Mckenna Grace on the upcoming animated film, which releases in 2026.

The prolific songwriter, known for his work on ‘Evita,’ ‘The Lion King,’ and others, will pen 3 new songs for the film, which stars Ewan McGregor, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mel Brooks; debuts later this year.  

The ‘Unikitty!’ and ‘Trollhunters’ writer/producer will also executive produce and co-write the animated series alongside ‘Wings of Fire’ book series author Tui T. Sutherland.

The studio enhanced brutal bare-knuckle boxing fights as well as created digital environments for key story locations and a CG aerial London cityscape, totalling 125 shots for Season 1 and another 107 shots for the upcoming Season 2.

Tentative agreement on 24 of 25 proposed points had previously been reached, with talks stagnating for nearly 300 days over concerns regarding consent and compensation for AI replica use; union claims to have issued counteroffer with no response.

Best known for co-founding Spümcø and co-developing the ‘The Ren & Stimpy Show,’ the veteran animator also contributed to ‘Tiny Toon Adventures,’ Batman: The Animated Series,’ ‘Ice Age,’ ‘The Oblongs,’ ‘Over the Garden Wall,’ and many others.

The latest installment in the ‘Gundam’ series, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, is a collaboration between studio khara (‘Evangelion’) and SUNRISE (‘Gundam’); exhibits run May 24 - August 11.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Day 1, the conference teases ‘Mufasa’ technical innovations, new VFX talks, Dave Gouge’s studio insights panel, targeted career sessions, and a short film YouTube series diving into topics such as taking cinematic images from Unreal Engine.
