UTS: Sydney International Animation Festival 2011

In its third year as a stand-alone festival, the UTS: Sydney International Animation Festival returns to the University of Technology, Sydney from 23 to 26 September 2011.

Showcasing the latest highlights of world animation, this year’s festival also marks an increased focus on the ideas, craft and processes behind animated filmmaking, with an engaging program of expert panels, discussions and student workshops, along with the annual SIXTY40 Proto-Ninja Prize & Blue Egg Audience Choice Award.

Kristiansand Int'l Children's Film Festival 2012

We are now accepting entries for our 15th edition, which will run from 24 - 28 April 2012. KICFF is looking for high quality shorts, long shorts, features and documentaries to be screened in our main section and numerous side bars of Norway's largest festival for films for children and youth. Animafrik animation festival

ANIMAFRIK animation festival will be held from October 25 to 29 2011 in Accra Ghana. Animafrik 2011 will host a four day animation workshop to be organized by Ecole des Metiers du Cinema D’Angouleme from France. The festival will have four evenings of screening from the African and the Caribbean region and films sent in competition. The climax will be the award ceremony for seven (7) deserving film entries received this year Three animation conferences will be held during the festival.

Universidad ORT Uruguay, organizer of FIA'11, is pleased to invite animators, producers and specially students and graduates of animation schools to present works to be selected for an exhibition and subsequent awarding between the 17th and the 18th October 2011 in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The Hollywood Film Festival 2011

The Hollywood Film Festival will run from October 20 to 24 at the state-of-the-art ArcLight Cinemas, in Hollywood.

The Festival will be capped off by the annual prestigious Hollywood Awards Gala ceremony on October 24, which lauds both annual and career achievements of Hollywood's emerging and established talents and launches the awards season.

Cinekid for Professionals

Cinekid for Professionals is a four day event (26 to 29 October) held during the nine day kids festival. Over 300 makers, financers, producers, distributors and buyers come to Amsterdam to inspire each other and enter into co productions and joint ventures. They close deals, network, watch new films and programmes and find new partners. Cinekid for Professionals consists of co production markets, the ScreeningClub (Buyers Market) and the Cinekid for Professionals Conference.

CALL FOR Tricky Women International Festival

Tricky Women is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women. The festival offers an international competition of animated short films realized by female artists and produced in 2010 or 2011. The 9th edition of Tricky Women AnimationFilmFestival will take place in Vienna 14th - 18th March, 2012.

The deadline for applications for the preliminary selection is October 21th, 2011.

The filmmaker chosen will travel to the festival and perform the final adjudication for the 2011 Greater Columbus Arts Council Media Fellowships.
