A meeting place for the international film and creative industries, the annual event returns in September to the Swiss town of Baden.
Fantoche is Switzerland’s biggest cultural event devoted exclusively to animation in all its many facets, in terms of the technology, content and media. The 21st edition runs from September 5-10 in Baden.
Originally launched in 1995 to bring the global animation scene to Switzerland, the festival has become an event for the public and a meeting place for the international film and creative industries. It takes place every year in September over six days in the Swiss town of Baden.
The annual festival features 280+ animated shorts and features films from around the world. The schedule includes various presentations, panels, lectures, and exhibitions. Each year, Fantoche holds both an international and a Swiss competition for short animated productions. Under the guidance of the curators, it addresses and explores an array of themes and shines the spotlight on new, multimedia-based, and interactive forms of animation.
