The 51^st annual conference, focusing on computer graphics, interactive techniques and technical innovation, returns to its origins in Denver, Colorado, running July 28 – August 1.

In celebration of the 25^th anniversary of Italy’s premier animation and VFX event, artists are invited to submit poster designs for the competition; winner to receive a Wacom tablet and have their work prominently displayed online and at the upcoming conference, which runs October 14-19 in Turin.

The Finnish gaming giant, with Waste Creative and in-house production studio This Thing of Ours, create a 60-sec animation that showcases a miniature diorama and a scene from the game brought to life on a 1-meter high cake with help from Emma Jayne Cake Design.

UCLA Film & Television Archive’s free biannual event showcases the latest restoration projects, featuring a line-up of films reflecting the breadth of moving image history; April 6 screening of restored animated classics includes ‘French Fried,’ ‘Musical Memories,’ ‘Japanese Lanterns,’ and ‘Red Riding Hood.’

The encore presentation at the Museum of Science and Industry features sculptures, architecture, installations, mutant vehicles, and screenings of the animated shorts ‘Fleeting Marvels’ and ‘Jung & Restless,’ followed by a Q&A; tickets are now on sale for the April 20 event.

‘La Saison Pourpre’ and ‘It’s Just a Whole’ also take home awards at the Lisbon Animation Festival’s 23^rd edition that wrapped up last week.  

The French association Les Femmes s’Animent’s Franco-African Initiative assists French-speaking women from Africa, Europe, and overseas territories with mentoring and resources to fine-tune project pitches for presentation at the 2024 Annecy Festival’s MIFA.
