Terminator Salvation: Coming May 2009

Warner Bros. announced Monday they will release TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS on Memorial Day weekend 2009, according to VARIETY.

Christian Bale stars as John Connor in the first of a three-picture arc that begins after Skynet has destroyed almost all humans in a nuclear holocaust. Connor leads a group of survivors to stop the machines.

Summer 2009 is still relatively open, but Twentieth Century Fox also has NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM II: ESCAPE FROM THE SMITHSONIAN opening May 22.

Deal for StateShift Announced

Conspiracy Entertainment Holdings, a developer, publisher and marketer of interactive entertainment software in North America and Western Europe, announced Tuesday that it has a publishing deal with Engine Software, a game developer based in the Netherlands, regarding the release of its STATESHIFT video game title in the American territories, including North and South America, and Mexico.

Robinson Crusoe Remake To Hit NBC

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reports NBC has ordered 13 episodes of a new ROBINSON CRUSOE series, to take place in the 17th century but will be an "adrenaline-charged version" of the classic 1719 novel by Daniel Defoe.

The show will probably premiere in fall or winter 2009.

Producers are Universal Media Services and British production house Power.

NBC programming chief Ben Silverman is considering other classic tales for remake, including David and Goliath and Jekyll and Hyde, according to a HOLLYWOOD REPORTER source.

Tanager AudioWorks Releases Chirp Virtual MIDI Keyboard Controller

Tanager AudioWorks announced Tuesday the availability of their Chirp Virtual MIDI Keyboard Controller software.

Chirp turns a user's computer keyboard into a MIDI keyboard controller, allowing a user to write or compose music without the need for a physical keyboard controller.

Chirp takes advantage of the new Adobe AIR rich internet application development environment.

EM.Entertainment And Studio100 Media Distribution Deal

EM.Entertainment GmbH and Studio100 Media have agreed an extensive co-operation running until the end of 2008 and covering international distribution of the wide-ranging EM.Entertainment rights portfolio within the TV, home entertainment and video on demand (VOD) sectors, the companies announced Tuesday.

The distribution partnership that EM.Entertainment agreed March 2007 with London-based media house Sparrowhawk Distribution Ltd. expires March 31, 2008 due to the takeover of the company by NBC Universal and its subsequent organizational restructuring.

Hillary Hayden Burri, president of Oakland-based branded children's product and multi-media company Haydenburri Lane, announced Tuesday that Jeanne Smith has joined the company as Vice President of Creative.

The position was created specifically for Smith to utilize her multi-talents as an innovator, creator, developer, director, and musician.

Haydenburri Lane continues to grow in 2008 with new additions to be announced shortly.

Smith joins Haydenburri Lane from Arizona-based Beati Productions.

EA Makes Offer to Take-Two

Electronic Arts announced Sunday that it has made an all-cash, $2 billion bid to acquire Take-Two Interactive Software.

New-York based Take-Two, best known for its GRAND THEFT AUTO franchise, rejected EA's proposal, made on Feb. 19.

EA's proposal of $26 per share represents a premium of 64 percent over Take-Two's closing stock price on Feb. 15th, the last trading day before EA sent its revised proposal to Take-Two, and a 63 percent premium over Take-Two's 30-day trailing average price over the thirty trading days ending on that date.

The uncensored first season of LIL' BUSH: RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES will hit stores on March 11, two days before the second season premieres on Comedy Central.

During the inaugural season viewers saw Lil' Bush and Tony Blair become cheerleaders, the Lil' Gang unleash weapons of mass destruction and Lil' Bush make a statement with his Aquaman underpants while facing off against Lil' Kim Jong Il.
