Techvis incorporating sound

By Karel | Friday, July 24, 2020 at 7:51am

Hi I am doing a thesis/dissertation on how techvis can potentially incorporate sound preparation elements as part of film preproduction.

I understand that previs is all about visualising the production prior to principle photography. My question is then how can maya be used so that the sound recordist/boomer operator can get a better sense of 'microphone placements'.

Seeking critique and guidance

Good day,

Not sure if this is allowed, if not please discard, ignore and feel free to report and delete this post.

Im working on my final project for college and am running out of time, which means rendering is going to be a huge issue as per my calculations ( my math is lacking so dont hold me to it) it would take me around 45 days to render my project. So Im trying to do what my adviser advised and do it through viewport 2.0 as he stated some collab projects are doing it that way and its coming out with acceptable quality.

Career advice: Bachelors degree OR practical work experience + iAnimate full workshop certificates

By Mike M | Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 2:04pm

Hi folks - I need some Career advice.  Been working as an animator and video editor for almost 3 years in a Vegas quality and size production.  I am looking to move ahead. I have two paths to choose from:

(1) Take a step back and do a bachelors degree (that means loss income + cost of degree + I don't get the value until the end), OR

(2) Leverage my work experience and pursue the 2 year program from iAnimate in Animation, which focus on technical skills and tool kits.  https://ianimate.net/

For the executive producer of Netflix’s hit animated medieval fantasy

Where there are vampires, there is blood, and Netflix’s Castlevania has both in abundance. The animated medieval fantasy series, based on Konami’s 1986 Japanese video game of the same name, doesn’t hold back when it comes to graphic violence, dark humor, and disturbing storylines. From winged underworld creatures tearing apart human torsos, to eyeballs being whipped out of eye sockets, to humans being burned alive and or used as livestock for vampire diets, it’s writer Warren Ellis’ dark world, and we’re all just living in it.

I don't know if anyone has seen it. The name of the compay is Euclideon and there is a "demo video" called Unlimited Detail and even an interview that can be found doing a search for the name Unlimited Detail. The video is on You Tube. Let me know what you think I don't know enough to tell if it is what it looks like, but I hope it is.

AnimationnTips, tricks advice

By aashna963 | Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 1:43am

I highly recommend that you read the book called "The animator's survival kit" by Richard Williams. It covers the basics of animation going from walking animations, jumping, running, and even facial. Its got it all baby.

The 12 principles of animations should be engraved into your brain if you want to animate, they're like the 10 commandments in some way.
