From indie animator Jim Lujan, the LA noir film follows private eye Chino Diamond on a search for a missing piece of music; debuts March 21.
Streaming Ink Media and independent animator Jim Lujan (Revengeance) have announced his new animated feature, The Full Fungus, will premiere March 21 exclusively on Animation+.
Directed and animated by Lujan, the LA noir film tells the story of private eye Chino Diamond on a search for a missing piece of music by the late jazz legend Mink Fungus. Lujan is known for the animated feature, Revengeance, which he wrote, directed, and starred in alongside indie legend Bill Plympton, who produced and also directed the film.
“I’ve been working for the last 15 months to bring The Full Fungus to life,” said Lujan, “I can’t wait to share the film with as wide an audience as possible through this exclusive premiere on Animation+.”
“We love the work of Jim Lujan and jumped at the opportunity to premiere The Full Fungus and bring it into homes via our TV channel Animation+,” added Streaming Ink Media/Animation+ co-founders Evan Weiss and John Fitzpatrick. “Jim is part of a community of creators and artists of all levels of experience and popularity who have been showing content primarily on social media, and we aim to provide this community with a custom-made dedicated OTT streaming destination by creators for creators and their fans.”
The voice cast includes Lujan, Charley Rossman (Superbad) as Diamond, and Deacon Burns (Kounterclockwise) as Fungus.
The Animation+ channel is currently carried free of charge on The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, and Plex, with other platforms set to carry the FAST channel over the coming months.
