OC3’s FaceFX to Use Fonix VoiceIn Technology

OC3 Ent., a leading provider of facial animation technology in games, will use Fonix VoiceIn speech recognition technology in the middleware FaceFX product.

FaceFX rapidly generates facial animation data from audio dialogue. Using Fonix VoiceIn technology, FaceFX creates more realistic animations and takes advantage of VoiceIns native support for the following languages: U.S. English, U.K. English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Korean and Japanese. In addition to providing more advanced tools for game developers, the partnership between OC3 and Fonix is significant because the two companies are working together to provide a realtime facial animation solution that will put a new face on in-game voice chatting.

"VoiceIn generates the best automated facial animation results weve ever seen," said Doug Perkowski, ceo of OC3 Ent. And the additional languages supported by VoiceIn allows foreign language and localized games have the same great facial animation as their English counterparts."

OC3 has done a great job of utilizing Fonix VoiceIn to increase the realism of the game experience, added Tim K. Hong, vp, Fonix Games. We are pleased with the way game developers are using our speech tools to enhance games and keep them cutting edge. The industry is really advancing because of new technologies from companies like OC3 and Fonix."
