exground filmfest 2007

In 2007, exground filmfest is taking place for the 20th time. For this occasion, the screenings in the capital of Hessen will include not only the highlights of the current program of independently produced short and feature films, but a specially designed section of highlights containing cult films from the past 19 festivals. exground filmfest will present some 300 films from 37 countries -- in the classic sections, American Independents, News from Asia, International, Documentary, Focus, and Shorts, as well as in the contests.

11th edition of Barcelona International Television Festival (FITB)

The Barcelona International Television Festival (FITB) is a three-day screening for children and young people from around the world: documentaries, animations, TV programs and series. Two prizes: UNICEF and CREATIVE will give awarded. The program includes MEDIA LITERACY, screenings from the ITC service of the department of education of the autonomous government of Catalonia and the exhibit of secondary school news programs, commercials and fiction videos organized by the Blanquerna Communication Department of the Ramon Llull University.

Cosplay Day At Kinokuniya

The New York Anime Festival (NYAF) has announced a Cosplay Day to celebrate the opening of Kinokuniya Bookstore's new flagship store in New York City. On Saturday, Nov. 3, any patron dressed in costume who visits the Kinokuniya Bookstore at 1073 Avenue of the Americas (between 40th and 41st Streets) from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm will receive a 10% discount off all anime and manga purchases and be entered into a raffle to win one of 10 complimentary weekend passes to the New York Anime Festival. Summer 2007 AAA Screenplay Contest

AAA Screenplay Contest gives away over $8,000 in cash and access to more than 350 companies, plus two TV prizes (one for sitcoms, the other for one-hour dramatic) this year, and four CS Genre Fellowships have been created to find promising writers and offer them the guidance of a CREATIVE SCREENWRITING mentor to help them take their work to the next level. These special fellowships will be awarded in the Drama, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Thriller/Horror and Comedy genres.

Szemletek Visionaudial Filmreview

The SosemArt Cultural Association is organizing its third Szemletek Visionaudial Filmreview and Art meeting. The film competition accepts all films under 30 minutes. There will be two parts of the film competition -- one centered on the theme "ambush" and the second open to all films. The event is also holding a screenplay contest, which has a synopsis deadline of Sept. 7. Fifteen writers will be chosen by the jury to submit their entire scripts. Screenwriting Expo Screenplay Competition

The Screenwriting Expo Screenplay Competition offers more than $150,000 in prizes and a $50,000 production deal. This year the competition has added a television category. The grand-prize winner will receive $20,000 cash, a trip to Los Angeles to attend Screenwriting Expo 6, plus $1,000 in semifinalist prizes. Screenwriting Expo will also award four genre category prizes, which includes $2,500 cash, a trip to L.A. for the event, plus $1,000 in semifinalist prizes.
