DC Studios Announces ‘Krypto’ Short Film Series

Described by James Gunn as ‘fun and goofy,’ the set of four shorts aimed at drawing kids’ interest in the budding new DCU will begin with a first drop around September.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios have announced a series of four upcoming short films that focus on Krypto, Superman’s trustiest good boy, according to Kidscreen. The first film will debut around September.

Much like the three recently announced DC Studios animated series, the short films aim to draw interest from kids and families to the budding new DCU from James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gunn recently described the shorts as “fun and goofy” at the February 21 DC Studios press event.

In addition to the kid-focused animated series DC Super Powers, Starfire and My Adventures with Green Lantern, Warner Bros. Animation has renewed the preschool series Batwheels for a third season.
