The second edition of NIAFF returns to Niigata, March 15–20 celebrating the diversity of global, feature-film length animation.
Niigata International Animation Film Festival (NIAFF) creates a meeting place for exchange of global perspectives on animation. The program includes a feature-length film competition and special screenings, retrospective screenings, academic forums, and lectures.
The city of Niigata historically focused on developing human resources for manga and animation. It is also a leading center of study for careers in animators and cartoonists, boasting 400 students at technical schools and professional colleges aspiring to these fields.
