The International Short Films Festival MAGMA, organized by the cultural association Scarti, will take place at Cinema Margherita (via Cavour, Acireale, Catania). The festival is divided in four sections: Narrative Short Film, Documentary Short Film, Experimental Short Film and Animation Short Film. The festival will be officially opened with a press conference and will close with a prize-giving ceremony for the best short films of each category. During the three-day festival there will be two question-and-answer sessions with directors and other members from the world of film distribution, two concerts and a photo exhibition. The selected short films, which will compete in the abovementioned categories, will be shown on Sept. 8 and 9. In addition to the short films, which will participate in the competition, there will also be a section for short films made by well-established directors and a section for short films, which do not enter the abovementioned categories. As in past editions, the distribution house El Aleph will sponsor the festival. For more information, visit www.magmafestival.org or e-mail info@magmafestival.org.
