Digital Worlds 2005

International animators and vfx experts will gather in the Galician city of Coruna, northern Spain for the fourth Digital Worlds confab.

It will host workshops of animation, digital effects and videogames with well-known creators. Among the participants: Canadian Chris Landreth, an Oscar winner in 2004 for the animated short RYAN; special effects supervisors Jordi Bares (GLADIATOR) and Gary Brozenich (KINGDOM OF HEAVEN); DreamWorks' Cassidy Curtis; Disney's Ramon Montoya; Spanish producer Paco Rodriguez (Filmax Animation); and Framestore CFC technical director Jamie Isles.

On July 1, Spanish toon house Dygra Films' Manolo Gomez and Angel de la Cruz will present their new animated feature, MIDSUMMER DREAM, coinciding with its theatrical release in Spain.

The showcase of videogames includes the latest products from Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and Electronic Arts.

More than 160 animated shorts from 18 countries have been submitted to the Digital Worlds Second Animation Festival.
