Render Issues with Maya Arnold Mac Book Pro

By Arlette | Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 7:46am

I am working with animation and my animator has a Mac Book Pro with 2.2 GHz Intel Core and 16 GB memory. When we render animation that is 4000 frames it takes us weeks to render.

Also, the render is not coming out as 16x9. We are trying to find the best solution to get our animation to render properly.

We tried using a render farm but it did not work out well. So if there are any suggestions for getting this animation rendered in to work better or using a render farm with Maya Arnold that will work we would appreciate any assistance.

Looking for two niche animated films, seem to be lost to time

By Coco | Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 4:56am

The first cgi film was a shot film about loss, an old woman was putting in memories of her husband (such as a pipe, a picture, etc) that were coming into the building (that looked like a library or clocktower, but instead of books there was a vast amount of storage boxes) from a clothes line going in from the outside, all the memorabilia hung from the line with a hangers. I believe it ends with the woman stumbling and her dropping everything, the film was a metaphor for losing someone dear to you.

Not sure how to start writing an essay? Start with a simple...Posted in Student Tips

Before we talk about how to start writing academized reviews, we need to reiterate what this literary genre is. Any textbook tells you roughly the same thing: the essay, as a genre of literature, originated during the Renaissance. Michel de Montaigne and his philosophical essays on the nature of things are at its origins. It is from this time can be counted - a new literary genre appeared - the essay or a small essay, where the author probably expresses his opinion about this or that subject.

Drawing Tablets with fully open source drivers/firmware to work on unix/unix-like operating systems (that aren't MacOS).

By Xtra | Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 7:28am

I need recommendation on some hardware if I want to be more involved with digital animation. Any recommended tablet that works fully with unix like operating systems like NetBSD or GNU/Linux? I know I probably could get the tablet pen to register with Xorg as a mouse, but that would mean pressure sensitivity wouldn't work at all.

*Anyone knows the name of this short animation???*

It's a video about two astronauts prepared and killed an alien mobula flying in the sky. Finally, they obtained a large water ball. When they dived their head into the ball, they had the illusion that they are back to the Earth. I also remember they opened a fruit and a small alien inside waked up and gave them something.

Anyone knows the name of this cool animation?

How to start animating!

By Animaters | Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:10am

If you want to start animating or you are fairly new to animating then this is probably the right post for you. When you start animating it is vital that you are using the right software in order to reach your full potential. Using boring and crappy softwares will limit what you can achieve and this will be your biggest downfall. You should be using a software which is easy and has a range of features for you to use, this will make your life much easier. There are many of these softwares out there, you just need to find the one that is right for you.

Animating a beach background?

By Marscaleb | Friday, July 9, 2021 at 7:56am

I am making a background for a 2D game.  I'm trying to figure out how I should create an animated beach background.

Ideally what I want is something like the beach backgrounds I see in a lot of anime shows.  I am looking at these because 1) they are actually treated as backgrounds without a strong focus on them; eg they are not making detailed waves crashing that demand a primary focus, 2) they seem to be made relatively simply without too much cost, 3) they still maintain a relatively realistic design and don't look too cartoonish/abstract, and 4) Weeb.

portable interactive animated postcard for PC and Android

By avetik | Friday, April 16, 2021 at 6:31am

I would like to create a file that can be sent to my contacts over email, messaging apps or social media, which would contain a simple animation with some interactive triggers, such as a button to push to continue or replay. Years ago I used Flash but since it has been discontinued I have no idea how else this can be done. Ideally it should be a vector format to keep the size low, but should also be platform indipendent, so that no software or app is needed to visualize it. Any ideas?

Turn a digital comic strip into a cartoon film ?

By myophic | Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 8:41am

Hello,

I'm not a graphic designer, but I would love to produce a cartoon film based on a comic strip. I have a question for all the pros and passionate people here :

Can we transform comic strips (made on a graphic tablet, therefore all the files are already digital) into 2D animated films? And if so, is it an easy operation (for experts such you guys)?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Myo
