Scarygirl Game to Hit in April

April 2009 will see the launch of the online SCARYGIRL gaming site, based on Nathan Jurevicius's Scarygirl concept. The project has been produced by Passion Pictures Australia with financial assistance from the Film Victoria Digital Media Fund. The game has been designed and developed by Touch My Pixel with in-game Flash animation from Renmotion and has taken the dedicated and creative team 22 months to develop and complete.

7th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards Honor Dead Space

The Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.), the non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of game audio announces the winners for the 7th Annual G.A.N.G. Awards which honor outstanding creative, technical and artistic audio achievement in the world of interactive entertainment.

The awards are voted and judged upon by the G.A.N.G. community consisting of over 800 members in over 30 countries. The winners were announced last week in a ceremony held in San Francisco, CA during the Game Developers Conference.

Disney Interactive Reveals Top Secret Details for G-Force Videogame

The government will look to a new type of secret agent to help protect the planet this summer -- an elite force of guinea pigs. Disney Interactive Studios will publish the G-FORCE videogame, inspired by the upcoming feature film G-FORCE from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. G-FORCE is scheduled to deploy to North American retail outlets in July 2009.

G-FORCE will carry out missions on Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS and Windows-based PC.

MAXON Computer's BodyPaint 3D will be the focus of a comprehensive Visual Arts Track at the 2009 Game Developers Conference (GDC), aimed at artists eager to learn how to easily create custom 3D textures for current and next-gen games. The session, entitled "Real World Texture Painting Tips for Game Developers," will be led by Kris Orpilla, a character modeler and texture artist at Electronic Arts (EA) in The Sims Studio division, where he brought his expertise to bear on the newest EA hit, SIMANIMALS.

Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet Reign Supreme At Choice Awards

Bethesda Softworks' epic post-apocalyptic open-world adventure, FALLOUT 3, received the Game of the Year Award at the 9th annual Game Developers Choice Awards, presented at a ceremony Wednesday evening the 2009 Game Developers Conference. Bethesda also received the Best Writing award for the game.

Media Molecule's imaginative user creation-centric platform game LITTLEBIGPLANET, which was first unveiled at GDC 2007, was the recipient of the most awards of the evening, taking four awards for Best Game Design, Best Technology, Best Debut Game and Innovation Award.

Charmed Star Replaces Weaver for Ghostbusters Game

Alyssa Milano has stepped into the female lead for GHOSTBUSTERS: THE VIDEO GAME, reports VARIETY. Sigourney Weaver, who played Dana Barrett in the two GHOSTBUSTER films, declined to participate in the game, which was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

Milano, the star of CHARMED, was flattered to be asked to join the franchise. For the game, the Barrett role was re-written as Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, the genius guest curator at the Natural History Museum's new "World of Gozer" exhibit.
