Dark Void Pushed to 2010

Joystiq.com reports that Capcom has pushed the DARK VOID release to 2010. The move is to avoid a full fall season of game releases. Airtight Games developed the jet pack flying game. DARK VOID was set to hit stores in September, which is the same month that HALO 3 ODST is set to drop. However, the first quarter of 2010 is looking even more packed than the fall with such titles as SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION, BIOSHOCK 2 and RED STEEL 2 already set for release.

Sony Gets an Infamous Video Game

Sony Pictures has picked up a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner to adapt Sucker Punch videogame inFAMOUS into a feature film, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The deal, in the seven figures, is still being process with Sony's sister company Sony Computer Ent., which publishes the game. Avi Arad and Ari Arad will produce. Sony execs Matt Tolmach and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing for the studio.

Second China Game Developers Conference

As an event with extensive influence in game developing field, the second China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) will be held in conjunction with world's second largest game show -- ChinaJoy, on July 24-26, 2009 in Shanghai, China. The first CGDC was closed on Aug. 29, 2007, on the conference, 60 experts and over one thousand professionals in game industry exchanged their ideas deeply; more than 50 technology suppliers promoted their technologies and products. The 2nd CGDC will also be supported by related government administration agencies.

Atari Asteroids Flying to the Screen

Four studios bid for the rights to the Atari videogame ASTEROIDS and THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER says Universal has won the game. BEDTIME STORIES writer Matthew Lopez will pen the script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce.

The game debuted in 1979 as an arcade title where a triangle spaceship blasted asteroids and flying saucers while trying to avoid smashing into the space debris.

The A-Team Has The Game as B.A.?

BlackFilm.com reports that 20th Century Fox is in talks with rapper The Game for THE A-TEAM feature. He would take on the iconic role of B.A. Baracus, originally played by Mr. T. Other rumored for the role include rapper-turned-actors Common and Ice Cube, as well as mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Liam Neeson is in talks to play team leader Hannibal Smith and Bradley Cooper is set to play Templeton "Faceman" Peck.
