The digital visual effects professional brings over 10 years digital VFX experience as a 3D generalist and other production roles, including technical director, lighting and look development supervisor, and CG supervisor.

Fonville has collaborated with studios such as The Mill and Framestore in London and Montreal, and contributed to projects for cinema and streaming platforms involving VFX work in complex environments, effects, and creatures. "It's a real pleasure for me to join The Yard,” shared Fonvillars. Upon my return to France, it was paramount for me to contribute my experience to a studio handling significant projects while maintaining a human scale. From my initial interactions with Laurens Ehrmann, the philosophy and ambition of The Yard impressed me. The showcased talent of the artists, coupled with the expertise of the Production and Supervision teams, has consistently resulted in the production of high-quality projects over the recent years, rightfully earning them industry recognition.”

He continued, “I am resolute in my commitment to our collective learning journey and eagerly anticipate tackling forthcoming challenges alongside this talented team. I am confident that these challenges will align seamlessly with the studio's overarching aspirations."

“We are delighted with Tom's arrival on many levels,” added The Yard founder and CEO Laurens Ehrmann. "His extensive experience will allow us to continue structuring our organization and support THE YARD's growth with an utmost level of professionalism. His presence at our new Montpellier site is a major asset for solidifying our studio in the Occitanie region, in the south of France, with high-quality professionals.”.

Fonvillars' appointment coincides with the studio's expansion, including its second site opening in Montpellier as part of the France 2030 plan, "La Grande Fabrique de l’Image."
