In the October issue of PLAYBOY, videogame vixens from a host of popular games will appear nude as part of an article on the changing face of gaming, reports CNN. Set to be part of the spread will be butt-kicking heroines from Majescos BLOODRAYNE, Midway's MORTAL KOMBAT, Namco's TEKKEN, Vivendi's upcoming RED NINJA and LEISURE SUIT LARRY: MAGNA CUM LAUDE and Sammy Studios' forthcoming DARKWATCH: CURSE OF THE WEST.
"Majesco thought it was all in good fun, said Laura Heeb, a spokesperson for the BLOODRAYNE publisher. The game's coming out that month and it's perfect timing. BLOODRAYNE is a very viable franchise now. It has definitely made the step up to a full-fledged video game franchise. The Playboy thing is nothing more than just another cool thing we can do with this franchise."
PLAYBOY itself will be venturing into the gaming industry later this year with PLAYBOY: THE MANSION. Groove Games and ARUSH Ent. are publishing the game, which is being produced by Cyberlore Studios. The game will put the player into the virtual slippers of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, building PLAYBOY MAGAZINE and the Playboy mansion into dynamic cultural icons.
