‘Solar Opposites’ to End at Hulu After Season 6

The show was renewed last July at SDCC for what will now be its final season; Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel and Sydney Ryan’s hilarious, NSFW series centers on four aliens evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome.

Korvo, say it ain’t so! Is this the final Break in The Wall? Solar Opposites will end its run at Hulu after Season 6. The streamer has just announced that the upcoming season, sadly, will be its last. The show was renewed for a sixth season last July during SDCC; it’s set to stream its now final set of original episodes sometime this Fall.

Known for its crazy antics, NSFW topics and high production value, Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff.

In Season 6, when the Solar Opposites family goes broke, they must learn to survive on Earth without any of their sci-fi devices or the massive amounts of video games, snacks and luxury watches they're used to. Guest stars include Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Beck Bennett. All five seasons of the show, including a Christmas special, two Halloween specials and a Valentine's Day special are available to stream on Hulu.

In Season 5, the whole Solar Opposites team focused on family values; alien mission partners Terry and Korvo got married. And of course, it gave us the Halloween episode, “The Hunt for Brown October.”

The series is executive produced by Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel and Sydney Ryan. 20th Television Animation produces.
