Online Festival Stop Motion Montreal Coming September 14-20

‘Home Sweet Home’ 12th edition will connect the international stop-motion animation community virtually.

MONTREAL -- The 12th Festival Stop Motion Montreal will run as a virtual edition from September 14-20. In order to serve the ever-growing stop-motion community, and to roll with the pandemic punches, the event will be available online to the entire international community; all members of the public will have the opportunity to experience the first-ever festival dedicated solely to the art of stop-motion, from the comfort of their own homes.

To highlight creators and their work, the festival will showcase a larger number of films then offered in previous editions, with more than 10 hours of screening entertainment.

This year’s official list of short films in competition will be revealed in the coming weeks on the festival’s social media channels, along with the professional workshop details and other program announcements. The Festival’s “Home Sweet Home” 12th Edition program will also feature special guest speakers, behind the scenes interviews, new original content created especially for this unique virtual edition, as well as online technical skills workshops running from September 14-17.

The festival will be available on the Canadian bilingual streaming platform, VUCAVU. The platform, which streams independent film and video art, is collaborating and partnering with the event to provide online access to all festival attendees.

The festival team invites regulars and newcomers to join in on the celebration from the safety and comfort of their couch and catch the stop motion fever.
