GoFish Corp. announced the upcoming launch of its latest Internet series, HIDDEN CELEBRITY WEBCAM. The interactive program, sponsored by the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, will premiere on the GoFish Network May 17, 2007.
HIDDEN CELEBRITY WEBCAM is created by Icebox. The animated parody gives audiences a voyeur's glimpse into the most private -- and unwittingly embarrassing -- moments of some of Hollywood's most notorious celebrities as imagined by series creator, Nell Scovell.
New episodes will air weekly over a 13-week period, and initial episodes will feature parodies of such personalities as Britney Spears, George W. Bush, Brad Pitt and Isaiah Washington, among others.
Starting June 6, the program will challenge GoFish audience members to conceive, create and upload their own HIDDEN CELEBRITY WEBCAM videos. The entries will be viewed and judged by some of television's top Emmy-winning producers, including Howard Gordon (exec producer, 24), Rob LaZebnik (co-exec producer, THE SIMPSONS) and John Collier (co-exec producer, KING OF THE HILL), as well as Scovell, who is a writer on CBS' NCIS and creator of the popular television series, SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH.
Contestants will be narrowed to a list of five finalists, with the winner receiving a meeting with the Rothman Brecher talent agency to discuss the possibility of talent representation. The agency represents artists affiliated with hit television series, including THE SIMPSONS, UGLY BETTY and CSI, among others. The first prizewinner also will receive an Apple MacBook Pro, while runners-up will receive Apple iPods.
"HIDDEN CELEBRITY WEBCAM is one of many incredible shows being developed by Icebox," said co-founder/ceo Tal Vigderson. "This program demonstrates the potential of a creative collaborative, and the interactive component will encourage other talented, aspiring writers and artists to use the Internet as a forum for artistic expression."
"The GoFish Network is one of the fastest growing online video destinations on the Web and a magnet for original content creators," said Michael Downing, founder/ceo of GoFish. "Partnering with Icebox and the 2007 MTV Movie Awards is both a privilege and a testament to the format of our original MFI programming."
"Our latest MFI series brings together both achieved and aspiring artists and creates an interactive context that is highly appealing to our audiences," said Lori Macias, vp of GoFish's MFI division. "HIDDEN CELEBRITY WEBCAM is also the first MFI series to feature animation, and it is our goal to explore a wide variety of genres with each original program."
