Alien tripods are set to invade your phone with the release of WAR OF THE WORLDS, the mobile game, from Gameloft. The exclusive agreement with Viacom Consumer Products Inc. enables Gameloft to develop, publish and distribute the wireless game version of the highly anticipated War of the Worlds movie directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Tom Cruise.
The game extends and broadens the movie experience by providing gamers a unique opportunity to play the part of the tripod. In this role, players take on humans, buildings and other manmade objects for an adrenaline filled game.
The gripping storyline of WAR OF THE WORLDS makes it a very compelling game, said Michel Guillemot, president, Gameloft. We wanted to exceed the already high expectations by adding a distinctive twist to the gameplay. Our production team came up with a creative concept which resulted in a fun and original game for all types of players.
