Anime Network Launches Broadband Service

Leading anime channel Anime Network has announced a new broadband service to stream high-quality anime on the Internet. The free service will feature more than 20 full episodes of classic and new anime series at any given time, including classics like RAHXEPHON and SAIYUKI, and new series such as AH! MY GODDESS: FLIGHTS OF FANCY and KURAU PHANTOM MEMORY.

In addition, series that have not yet been released on home video in North America, featuring the Japanese language track with English subtitles, will begin running months before the DVDs are launched. The inaugural "First Look" program is the mecha series GURREN LAGANN from Studio GAINAX (Neon Genesis Evangelion), which, according to ANIME INSIDER, "captures giant robot anime at its soaring, smashing, brilliantly explosive best."

The streaming content requires only the Flash 9 player and Java Script to view. At this time Anime Network's Internet offerings are restricted to the U.S. and Canada. For more information, visit theanimenetwork.com.
