TAIS Presents Professional Development Workshop

On Saturday, September 20, 2003 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, Toronto Animated Image Society is hosting this one-day intensive workshop designed as a broad introduction for those interested in starting their own business and/or selling your skills as a freelancer. It will explain how to deal with GST, PST, legal registration, licensing, zoning and by-laws. Emphasis will be placed on saving money on taxes, getting organized, tapping into various consultants and government help centers. This workshop is especially useful for anyone interested in setting up their own film production company or planning a film shoot. Christine Whitlock is a writer/producer/director who has also been teaching business courses since 1981. She has two businesses that do business consulting, write scripts, publish books and create events. She belongs to the Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville Chambers of Commerce. Takes place at the TAIS Animators' Co-op. The event will cost $25 for TAIS members and $35 for the general public.
