Facets Multi-Media is launching the Facets Kids Film Network, a major initiative to bring quality children's films to new, broader audiences. Facets will present the network's first "Best of the Fest" program, featuring a one-hour selection of 10 award-winning short films from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, the nation's oldest and largest festival of films for children.
The launch, which includes a screening of the films, a press conference and reception, will be on Tuesday, September 25, at 5:30 pm at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 East Washington Street, Chicago. Admission is free, but prior reservation is required by calling Facets Multi-Media at 773-281-9075.
The 10 films selected for the "Best of the Fest" DVD are DOMO-KUN AND THE EGG, Tsuneo Goda, Japan; LUKA, Adrienne Michel-Long, Ireland; MONDO'S MYTHS: WHERE DID THE NIGHT COME FROM?, Andres Lieban, Brazil; NINETEEN, Jorg Hiller, Colombia; EGGHUNT, Paul Yan, U.S.; THE MANTIS PARABLE, Josh Staub, U.S.; DO OTHER THINGS, Helena Giersz, U.S.; THE MAGIC LION, Charles Githinji, Canada; CONFECTION, Eva Saks, U.S.; and LITTLE PIG IS FLYING, Alicja Jaworski, Sweden.
