Bill Plympton Announces Patreon, ‘Slide’ Screening

The legendary animator’s new crowdfunding effort offers 3 tiers of special content and exclusive perks; a special screening of his new film, which tells the tale of a mythical cowboy showdown with eco-villains, is coming to MOMI March 9.

Legendary animator Bill Plympton has launched a Patreon, which features special content from his films and exclusive perks such as access to his Animation Masterclass videos, illustrations, and conversations.

Three tiers of offerings are available to members, starting with Flooby Nooby, which is $2 per month and sends members a daily sketch. The Guard Dog tier is $15 dollars per month, which provides lessons, POV Drawing Videos, and a chance to have an animation reviewed by Plympton. New members also receive a sketch postcard mailed to their home. Lastly, the Strange Person tier is $100 per month, which includes pencil tests and previews to Plymptoons' latest releases. The postcard sketch is upgraded to a custom caricature.

Additionally, Plympton’s new animated feature film, Slide, will have a special screening at the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI) on March 9 at 6pm.

Slide tells the tale of a mythical cowboy showdown with eco-villains intent on paving over idyllic Sourdough Creek.

Registration for the screening is first come, first served.
