The Art Institute of Los Angeles is hosting an Earth Day-inspired art contest and special event featuring digital and traditional works of art from current Art Institute students and local-area high school students. Using an environmental theme to showcase their artistic talents, students will compete for prizes and accolades, learn about animation/design software packages and raise awareness of environmental issues.The Art Institute of Los Angeles hosts this contest and event to observe Earth Day and heighten awareness of the environment within the local community. The Art Institute is a recognized institution for career preparation in the art, design and culinary-related fields. Partners of this contest and event include Heal the Bay and Global Green USA. Also sponsoring the event are a number of prominent companies in the digital animation, computer graphics and content creation industries such as 3Dlabs, Alias|Wavefront, Animation Magazine, Digital Element, Inc., Discreet, NewTek, NXN Software, Sony, Square Electronic Arts L.L.C., Toon Boom Technologies Inc. and Wacom Technology Co.
