The DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books

The DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books celebrates independent film, music and books with a mix of panels and performances. The fifth annual DIY Convention will feature five nights of national independent music acts booked by Spaceland Prods; two nights of DIY Film Festival screenings; the DIY Music Festival finals; a prime slate of panels, workshops and exhibits at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood; and parties, parties, parties.

New panels for 2005 include: * Upstreaming and Incubators: Major record labels have a new mantra: upstream. But will the tender embrace of big companies work for independent labels and artists? * The State of Urban Music/Punk/Latin: Three separate in-depth examinations of the current situation in these important genres. * Branding and Sponsorship: Do you know how to make your art stand out and attract money? Our experts will explain how it's done
