Deadline Hollywood reports that Marc Webb ((500) DAYS OF SUMMER) is Sony's lead choice to helm the reboot of the SPIDER-MAN franchise. SPIDEY producers and exec find that Webb showed an understanding of young people in SUMMER, which fits well with the new high school set direction for the franchise. Screenwriter Jamie Vanderbilt has brought Peter Parker back to his teens. Other directors on Sony's list include heavyweights like James Cameron, David Fincher, and Wes Anderson.
