What are the top Design and Animation Universities in South America. Argentina/Brazil

By Produsive | Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 8:54am

Hello everyone,

I have set up a new video marketing production blog www.produsive.com  and i am writing an article on the 'South American' affect, mainly looking at the quality talent coming out of Argentina and Brazil. I have experience of working with such talent, and want to look at why there is such talent coming from this area. So i first want to look at the universities and what they are doing differently, is it just the culture?!

How contemporary animation can influence culture and research

By Helen | Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9:40am

Hello

I have to give a short talk on this very broad and open ended topic and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts or examples on how contemporary animation practice (film, tv) has influenced or affected culture and/or research.

Any insight would be very interesting.

All the best,

Helen

Animation courses/degrees in Australia??

By Ricky | Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:52pm

Hi everyone.

So basically I was wondering if anyone on here knows of any courses or degrees, offered through Univeristy or any other place of education, in Australia that are perfect for someone interested in a career in Animation/illustration.

I'm essentially a complete newbie when it comes to animation, having only recently seriously gotten into it, but I have been drawing since a young age. I was the kid who would spend hours creating my own characters and then making numerous homemade comics about them haha.

What software is used in this video?

By Edvin | Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 4:19am

Hello there. My name is Edvin and I come from Bosnia. I've recently decided to try and create an animation project similar to the video shown on the link I posted below. My company is in the same industry (metal sheet roofing). I've never done any kind of 3D animation so I'd appreciate any beginner advice but my main concern is - like I mentioned - what software is used to create specifically what's shown in the video.

Need advice. What's the difference between 11min and 22min cartoons?

Hi,

I'm doing research from own pitch bible and am trying to figure out time and episode constraints.  However i'm confused about differences between 11 minute cartoons vs 22 minute cartoons and the pros and cons for an animated tv series.

Animation Tutorials

By Richard | Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 5:29pm

Hi,

My name is Richard and I am looking to produce a set of character design and animation tutorials.

I'm interested in what people on this forum would find most valuable in a tutorial series?

Is it back to basics with the 12 principles of animation?

Is it about the basics movement mechanics?

Would you want to learn about the dynamics of creature movement?

How about how to get started using the software? What 2D software is most used out there? Flash, Toonboom?

Hoping from some advice...

Hi,

I'm new here and to animation in general and hoping to get some advice. I home educate my six year old son who is obsessed with 3D animation and game design. I've been hugely impressed by his motivation to learn at such a young age and he really wants to know how to use programs such as 'Blender' and to learn more about sketching and shading to help design his own characters.

Hi guys,

I am wanting to study 3d animation online, mainly character animation and if possible, a focus on creature animation.

Rocket Sky
iAnimate

I have gone through many forums but I remain thoroughly confused.

If anyone has any personal experiance that may guide me to the best choice,. please let me know

Thanks.

A complete newbie. Need guidance.

Hellow everyone. I am a 20 year old animation enthusiast. At present I am at square zero with no prior knowledge in animation. I possess acting skills and I believe that is something that could help me in the animation biz. I need some guidance. I want to know where to begin and how. I want to learn 3D animation and want to design for video games. I have no prior knowledge in animation so I wanted to start from the basics of traditional animation and then advance to mordern animation techniques.

How do I measure the duration of the animation I'm working on?

Hi, guys! I'm new here and I'm also new writing cartoon scripts and drawing storyboards for animation projects. My previous experience was with mobile/desktop games but I confess I'm loving the animated cartoon world. Anyway, the thing is I'm writing a script and I don't know how to measure the amount of time the speeches and actions have. How do I do that? Do I need to record the characters to get an idea?

WHat program for 3d model videos?

By chadgrayco | Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 9:51am

I am in business developement / consulting and i want to make a short video to get a concept across.

Looking for a program where I can make a 3D model of a car drive from point a - b in a straight line. I want to add in 3D objects around it and possibly have the camera angle follow the car as it is moving. The whole video would be 3D models.

Which program would be best for this?

Any suggestions and explanations of such are greatly appreciated.

Voiceover Reel and Offer

You need a special funny voice? I've got a special funny voice! In fact, please listen to my reel and let me know what you think. Maybe we can work together. I love to collaborate and create. I have taught in the film school at NYU so hence I am posting it here, also because I hope to do work with other academics and this post is also for students.

I've done professional Voiceover for Honda, Toyota, CT Lotto, Rockstar Games, Minimighties children's series for the Language Mate Co, individual composers and animators, and my own films.

Need to Interview an Animator (Independant or in the Industry) for a Homework Assignment!

By xxpreseaxx | Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 8:30pm

Hello,

I am a sophmore currently enrolled in the Academy of Art University - San Francisco.
My major is 2D Animation and I plan to be an independant animator who does commissions for other people and businesses.
My homework assignment is to interview someone. It does not need to be in person, nor by phone, nor by video chat. All one has to do is answer the questions here.

3D Animation in Los Angeles

I recently gained an interest in animation, but have realized that my poor drawing skills will make it impossible for me to ever become a 2D animator (I have started to learn how to draw, but realistically I know I won't be able to compete with some of the talent out there). However, I've recently learned that 3D animators do not actually need to be amazing at drawing. I'd like to take a class in 3D animation to see if it's really for me before I go out and try to find a multiple year program.

San Jose State University is offering a course in motion capture this summer. The College of Humanities and the Arts and the College of enginneering are collaborating with the Phasespace motion capture company to produce the course, which also includes instruction in the Motion Builder software for mapping capture files to 3D models. Enrollment is through Special Sessions, so anyone may enroll.
