TRICKY WOMEN/TRICKY REALITES: International Animation Film Festival with a unique focus on animation by women*, takes place in Vienna March 8 – 12, 2023.

Sponsored by Netflix Canada, the ACE program creates opportunities for new and diverse voices to tell their stories; participants will receive mentoring, training, and support in developing original IP.
Submissions now being accepted through April 18 for paid virtual fellowships for women creatives from India, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia; participants will be mentored and trained in virtual production.
Sponsored by Netflix Canada, the ACE program supports animation professionals who identify as women and non-binary; 32 applicants were selected to participate in Phase 1, which includes workshops, pitch training and mentoring.

Tricky Women is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women filmmakers. Since 2001 it has been held in Vienna each March.

Awards and prize money will go to the directresses of the films.
While college animation programs in the U.S. have historically skewed male, female enrollment at top schools has surged nationwide, especially in the last five years.
