4Kids Entertainment Nabs Global Licensing For Mini Ninjas

4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: KDE), a global provider of children's entertainment, has been named worldwide (excluding Japan and Korea) licensing agent for merchandise based on the Mini NinjasTM action adventure video game from Eidos Interactive, which was released this month on multiple platforms.

Into The Pixel 2009 Art at E3

Sixteen works of art have been selected from a field of more than 200 submissions from around the world for the 2009 Into The Pixel Art collection. In its sixth year, Into the Pixel (ITP) is the only juried digital art exhibition that brings together experts from the traditional fine art world and the interactive entertainment industry to display and discuss the art of the video game. Into the Pixel is a joint effort of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, the Entertainment Software Association and the Prints & Drawings Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Interactive Achievement Awards Headed to IFC in April

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) and IFC (Independent Film Channel) will bring the 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAA) to television audiences for the first time.

The awards will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Red Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The IAA will be broadcast on IFC in April 2009 and comprise of a half hour special with highlights from the IAAs and will be hosted by comedian, actor and proud game enthusiast, Jay Mohr.

Interactive Achievement Awards Gets New Partnership

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) and the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), have signed an agreement where the IGDA will become involved in the Interactive Achievement Awards (IAAs).

The IAAs, now in their 12th year, are supported by all of the major video game publishers and developers in the industry. Their purpose is to recognize the top creative and commercial successes each year with Academy, and now IGDA members, voting on the winners.

The Cell Helmer Returns for The Unforgettable

After making the visually innovative thriller THE CELL in 2000, Tarsem Singh has not made a film for a major studio since.
