Warner Bros. in Talks to Acquire LuckyChap’s ‘Avengelyne’ Feature

The comic book adaptation, a collaboration between Olivia Wilde, Margot Robbie, and Simon Kinberg, with a script by Tony McNamara, follows Maximum Press’ demon-battling angel.

Has Maximum Press’ demon-vanquishing angel found her new home? LuckyChap’s upcoming Avengelyne feature adaptation may soon be acquired by Warner Bros., THR reports. While an agreement has yet to be brokered under the first-look deal between both studios, it’s unlikely Warner Bros. will pass on such a hot project.

Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling), Margot Robbie (Barbie, Saltburn), and Simon Kinberg (X-Men) will collaborate on the adaptation of the comic book character Avengelyne, co-created by Rob Liefeld (Deadpool) in 1995.

In the comic series, Avengelyne is an angel who battles demons and monsters in her fight against evil. No word on who will play the supernatural warrior.

Wilde will direct the project from a script by Tony McNamara, while Kinberg, Robbie’s LuckyChap, and partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara will produce.
