Lionsgate has cast Stanley Tucci in THE HUNGER GAMES, reports ComingSoon.net. He will play Caesar Flickerman, the flamboyant host of The Hunger Games TV show. Additionally, the studio revealed on the film's Facebook page that newcomers Imanol Yepez-Frias and Annie Thurman have been cast as the tributes from District 9.
Based on Suzanne Collins' novel, the story is set in a future where each district of a divided U.S. sends two young competitors into a death match, which is televised.
Cast members include Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), Amandla Stenberg (Rue), Jack Quaid (Marvel), Leven Rambin (Glimmer), Willow Shields (Prim), Paula Malcomson (Mrs. Everdeen), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket) and Wes Bentley (Seneca Crane).
Gary Ross is the director. Billy Ray penned the script. Color Force's Nina Jacobson is the producer.
