Walt Disney Pictures is more than excited about the prospects of TRON LEGACY and as a result has sealed a deal with its producer Jeffrey Silver to develop future tentpoles for the studio, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The trade paper notes that the agreement is unusual in the current climate where deals like this one are disappearing.
Silver has credits on such films as 300 and TERMINATOR SALVATION. When he was at Outlaw Prods., he produced the SANTA CLAUSE films and TRAINING DAY.
Disney wants Silver to work on a possible TRON LEGACY sequel, as well as Joseph Kosinski's sci-fi flick OBLIVION.
