Steven Soderbergh is in negotiations to direct Warner Bros.' feature adaptation of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Scott Z. Burns, the writer of Soderbergh's THE INFORMANT, is in talks to pen the script.

The project has been in development since the '90s. Recently, David Dobkin (WEDDING CRASHERS) was set to direct from a script by Max Borenstein, but now Dobkin is moving to producer. John Davis is also producing.

The 1960s TV series aired on NBC. Created by James Bond's Ian Fleming, the show followed American and Russian secret agents in the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.

The plan is to shoot U.N.C.L.E. at the end of 2011.
