Chuck Russell (SCORPION KING) wants to make ARABIAN NIGHTS in 3-D, reports VARIETY. Russell and Barry P. Ambrose penned the screenplay. Inferno Entertainment is funding the $70 million production, which is set to start production in April.
The new twist on the tale has a young commander teaming up with Sinbad, Aladdin and his genie to save Princess Scheherazade from the evil forces that murdered her father and took over her kingdom.
Inferno's Bill Johnson, Mayhem Pictures' Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray, and Roar's Will Ward are producing.
Inferno will be pitching the project to international distributors at this week's American Film Market.
