Universal Pictures is set to adapt Melissa Marr's novel WICKED LOVELY into a feature with Kimberly Peirce (BOYS DON'T CRY) at the helm, reports Heat Vision. Wild West Picture Show Productions' Vince Vaughn, Valeri Vaughn and Peter Billingsley are the producers.
WICKED is the first book in a series that includes INK EXCHANGE, FRAGILE ETERNITY and the forthcoming RADIANT SHADOWS. It follows a teenage girl whose ability to see the fairy world makes the fairy king demand to marry her. CORPSE BRIDE scribe Caroline Thompson is set to pen the script.
Kristin Lowe, vp production, and Kiska Higgs, creative exec, will shepherd for the studio.
