Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom and Danny McBride will reprise their roles as Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb in the 3rd entry in the popular animated film franchise, hitting theaters January 29, 2027; Rovio, SEGA, and Prime Focus Studios produce with animation partner DNEG.
Paramount Pictures has just announced that the upcoming animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie 3, from Rovio, SEGA, and Prime Focus Studios, will hit theaters worldwide on January 29, 2027. The film, produced in association with One Cool Group, Flywheel Media, and dentsu, is being animated by DNEG Animation.
Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, Horrible Bosses), Josh Gad (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Trolls World Tour), and Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones, The Mitchells vs. the Machines) are returning, reprising their roles as Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb.
The film follows the success of the first two Angry Birds movies, which, according to the production companies, have grossed together over $500m at the worldwide box office and been successfully received on streaming platforms.
John Rice (Angry Birds, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe) directs from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman (Angry Birds 2, Adventure Time, Flapjack), who executive produces alongside Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Prime, Golden Axe). John Cohen (Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie, Angry Birds), Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines), and Carla Connor (The Willoughbys) serve as producers.
Jeanie Chang returns as production designer and Francesca Natale as character designer. Head of story is Vadim Bazhanov, and lead editor is Sarah K. Reimers. DNEG Animation is responsible for storyboards, art development, and animation.

Prime Focus Studios recently co-produced animated film The Garfield Movie with Alcon Entertainment for Sony Pictures, which has grossed more than $257 million to date. The company is currently in production on Animal Friends with Legendary Entertainment and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and on the Indian title Ramayana with actor-producer Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
