The long-awaited sequel from Oscar-winning director Ridley Scott continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome; coming to theaters November 22.
Paramount Pictures just released a trailer and character posters for Oscar-winning director Ridley Scott’s historical action feature Gladiator II, coming to theaters November 22. The sequel to 5X Oscar winner Gladiator stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington, continuing the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome.
In the movie, years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Mescal) must enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
Scott directs from a screenplay by David Scarpa based on a story by Scarpa and Peter Craig and characters by David Franzoni. Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald, Raymond Kirk, and Aidan Elliott serve as executive producers. Douglas Wick, Scott, Lucy Fisher, Michael Pruss, and Franzoni are producers.
