Entries in all short form categories as well as features, VR and commissioned work must be received by the last day of May.
In addition to the short film categories (narrative, non-narrative, student, etc.), the festival is also looking for features, VR and commissioned work such as animated series and music videos.
Why enter, you say? The OIAF loves people that make animation:
- There is no entry fee.
- Filmmakers selected for the Official Competition receive a pass and accommodation.
- All films submitted under the independent categories receive an artist fee.
- You'll get to meet fellow artists from around the world.
- Your film will be presented in a world-class cinema on a really big screen.
- You will get fancy laurels to use.
- You will have an amazing time.
- You might even win a really cool award.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the OIAF is on the Academy Award Qualifying Festivals list for short films? If you win the Grand Prize for Best Short Film, then you are ready to submit.
How do I enter?
- Hop over to the festival’s submission page by CLICKING HERE!
- Read all the submission info carefully.
- At the top of the website, hit the Register button and get signed in.
- In the User Menu, you will find the entry form. Go for it!
