ATOMFILMS has announced that ERIC CALDERON has joined the company as
Animation and Digital Media Development Executive and RICHARD BARTON has
joined their board of directors. Before moving to AtomFilms, Calderon was
the former Director of Animation Development at MTV. Calderon will be in
charge of recruiting and developing animation and digital media talent,
content and technologies. At MTV, Calderon oversaw MTV animation series
such as: CARTOON SUSHI, CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH, DARIA, DOWNTOWN, and the
upcoming SPYGROOVE. Barton comes to AtomFilms as the president and CEO of
Expedia, Inc., a leading on-line travel company. Barton joins a board of
directors which includes: Frank Biondi Jr., former Chairman and CEO of
Universal Studios; Mark Torrance, Vice-Chairman of Getty Images, Inc.; and
Thomas Hoegh, Founder and Managing Director of Arts Alliance. Barton will
help AtomFilms' optimize its distribution of digital entertainment and
e-commerce. This announcement comes along with the recent hiring of John
Marom, former President of Time Inc. International, as the Seattle-based
Internet company's senior VP of worldwide revenue and media strategies. He
was not an MTV animation employee as reported in the past.
