‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ First Look Images Revealed

Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are at the helm of the third web-slinging film in the animated Spidey trilogy, now set to hit theaters June 4, 2027.

Well, the wait isn’t over, but for now, it’s at least quantifiable. The third film in Sony Pictures Animation’s fan-favorite web-slinging animated Spidey trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, will now hit theaters June 4, 2027. Yesterday, producer/writer Phil Lord and co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson told a CinemaCon audience that, “We know how important this franchise is to so many people around us. We just could not run it back. So, we decided we needed to take the time to make sure we got it just right.”

The series began with the genre-shattering, Oscar-winning 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, followed by the Oscar-nominated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023. Created and produced by Lord and his producing partner, Christopher Miller, the increasingly successful franchise has generated more than $1 billion at the box office. Lord and Miller are co-writing the upcoming film (along with David Callaham) as well as producing alongside Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Jinko Gotoh.

While mums the word on the story, we’re betting it involves Miles Morales continuing to battle his existential angst as well as foes, and friends, across the multi-verse.
