‘Masha and the Bear’ Episode Reaches 2 Billion Views on YouTube

The only animated video included in the top 10 most viewed videos of all time, ‘Masha and the Bear’ episode ‘Recipe for Disaster’ receives more than 2 billion views on YouTube to become the #5 most watched video on YouTube.

Fans in more than 100 countries are celebrating with their favorite show as a new milestone has been reached by international animated series Masha and the Bear. The CG-animated series from Russia’s Animaccord Animation Studio continues to gain popularity and break records, reaching two major milestones in the past week.

Season 1 episode “Recipe for disaster” received more than two billion views on YouTube, and took fifth place in the list of the most viewed videos on YouTube of all time, standing next to popular music videos from singers such as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift. The episode “Recipe for disaster” is the only animated video that is included in the top 10 most viewed videos of all time, and has strongly contributed to capturing a fan base of more than nine million engaged subscribers.

The series follows the adventures of a retired circus bear who settles into the woods and prepares for a quiet new life surrounded by peace and tranquility until he is introduced to an adventurous little girl named Masha who can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Bear is a warm, fatherly figure that does his best to guide his friend and keep her from harm, often ending up the unintended victim of her misadventures. Together with a rag-tag group of friendly animals that have made the forest their home, Masha and the Bear entertains adults and children alike, teaching viewers about creativity, loyalty and true friendship.
