Returning for its 9th year, the U.K.’s largest animation festival will offer audiences a unique engagement with some of the world’s best animated content; event runs November 12-17 in-person, 18-30 online.

Manchester Animation Festival (MAF), the U.K.’s largest animation festival, has revealed its sting and poster for 2023. Returning for its ninth year, the festival will offer audiences a unique opportunity to engage with and indulge in some of the world’s best animated content. The festival’s official sting was created by Will Becher, the Oscar-nominated co-director of Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. The full program will be revealed September 27.

Hosted at HOME in Manchester, the festival brings one of the UK’s biggest animation hubs together and invites the international community to join in to delight in all things animated. Animation is everywhere, from the smallest smart phone screen to the largest cinematic projection. Manchester Animation Festival unites artists, practitioners, students, and enthusiasts, and all those in between to savor the many and varied achievements of the animated form.

As well as short films in competition, the three-day festival will present animated feature films, retrospectives, masterclasses, workshops, national and international director screen talks and Q&As as well as panel discussions giving a broad and dedicated insight into the animation industry. Manchester Animation Festival is an Academy Award Qualifying Festival.
