Live-Action ‘Fallout’ Series Gets Release Date

Based on Bethesda Softworks’s popular dystopian videogame franchise, the Prime Video original series centers on Vault 33 in Los Angeles and will premiere April 12, 2024.

Please remain calm. The official Fallout X account has revealed the release date for the live-action series adaptation of the best-selling post-apocalyptic RPG. In a video seemingly right out of the game, a ‘very important message’ states the series will premiere on April 12, 2024.

The new series will be set against the same backdrop as its source material, in a nuclear age that unfolds in 2077 America. Fallout has been in development since Amazon Studios first licensed rights to the game franchise in 2020.

Walton Goggins stars in the series as a “ghoul,” a human whose exposure to radiation during the Great War renders them disfigured, yet immune to nuclear fallout. He is joined by Moises Arias as Norm; Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus; Aixa Kendrick as Moldaver’s Elite Guard; Aaron Moten as Maximus; Leer Leary as Davey; Dave Register as Chet; and Rodrigo Luzzi as Reg.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy executive produce via Kilter Films under their overall Amazon Studios deal, and Nolan will direct the series’ pilot episode. Athena Wickham of Kilter Films will also executive produce, alongside Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.

Amazon Studios and Kilter Films produce in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.

Fallout premieres April 12, 2024 only on Prime Video.
