Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer to Pen ‘Fantastic Four’ Script

The ‘Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship’ writers have outlined how the ‘Fantastic’ team will fit within the complicated MCU chronology, although no further casting or plot details are known.

Things are ‘flaming on’ for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot! Matt Shakman is officially on board as director, and it has now been revealed that Jeff Kaplan (The Last of the Great Romantics) and Ian Springer (Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship) will pen the script. Apparently, both talented writers have been on the project for some time and have even outlined how the Fantastic team will fit within the complicated MCU chronology. Sneaky, sneaky!

Producer Kevin Feige and Shakman are currently working towards rounding out the main cast. Despite rumors that the entire team had already been hand selected, with Penn Badgley and Jodie Comer as favored choices for Reed Richards and Susan Storm, there is, “no cast currently on board.”

Feige, whose side job is Marvel Studios president, announced earlier this year that production will kick off in 2023, with the film slated to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. However, not much else is known about the upcoming film, or who will play the iconic roles of Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing. No word yet on who will handle the fantastic VFX.
