Announcement from Independent:
Award-winning director at Independent, Cary Fukunaga, has created the epic new trailer for 180 Amsterdam and the European launch of the Sony PS Vita console.
Already receiving hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, the film is a one-minute blockbuster of high voltage action, depicting its protagonists in a series of game-like sequences as the edges between their real and gaming worlds grow more and more blurred using the PS Vita.
Having won both critical and commercial acclaim as the director of films including Jane Eyre and Sin Nombre, as well as for high profile campaigns for Levis, Cary was the natural choice as director of the campaign for PS Vita, the latest handheld console from Sony. Moving away from the handicraft style of previous campaigns for Sony Playstation, Cary's filmic vision has produced an ad that captures in breathtaking cinematic style the pervasive function of the PS Vita. Filming on location in Prague, the ad features real gamers, auditioned and hired through gaming circles, and follows them on journeys that take them from tube trains to battlefields and beaches to boxing rings. The result is a mini movie-masterpiece that would break box office records!
